philosophy

As a design practice, we're interested in projects which intrigue and delight. Creating architecture can be a difficult and daunting task, and we aim to guide our clients deftly and carefully through the process using our knowledge of design and our experience in building. We delight in sharing our design skills with our clients to create objects and buildings which are delightful and spaces which are both calming and exciting. Our goal is that each project reflect our client's aspirations and enhance their experience of life and living.

We believe successful spaces are those which evoke an emotional and physical response, whether it be to calm or excite, or to encourage social interaction or allow quiet contemplation. We aim to create residential architecture which enhances family living, using space, form, material, texture and proportion to create a place which reflects our clients' way of living and their aspirations.

expertise

A comfortable and beautiful building is difficult to attain, especially when combined with site and budgetary constraints. Knowledge and skill is required to balance these external influences with the aesthetic requirements of space, form, material, texture and proportion. We have experience in the design, procurement and contract management of residential, commercial and hospitality projects draw on this experience with each new project we develop. We recognise the value of risk and cost management and incorporate strategies for these into the design, pricing and construction processes of all our projects, ensuring that projects are carefully and constantly assessed for value, affordability and suitability.

We specialise in providing full architectural design services for residential and small-scale commercial projects throughout the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Auckland regions. We assist clients in all aspects of the building design and construction process, from initial site analysis, through design, consenting, pricing and procurement, construction and completion stages. We see our role as to guide our clients smoothly through this process, creating buildings that both fulfil their needs and elevate their spirit.

client-based design

Critical to the success of our projects, initial and ongoing consultation and dialogue with our clients ensures we understand their aspirations and develop their project to meet their specific needs. Working closely with our clients allows us to create architecturally-formed objects and spaces which provide an enriching experience of life and living; establishing mutual interests and sensibilities early in the design process ensures our design suits our clients perfectly.

We believe the quality and success of a building depends upon the cohesiveness of its design. Working closely with our clients, we design and specify the fixtures, fittings and cabinetry for each of our projects, allowing us to guide and control the composition of the work and ensuring each element adds to the overall architectural experience of the building and to the value of the completed project.
